At the end of 2019, Learning Cubed’s plan for 2020, had digital learning and online assessment at the top of the list of objectives for the year. The anticipated even-paced development of these platforms and learning solutions turned into a frantic sprint to the finish line when COVID-19 hit and forced all sectors to adjust to the new normal.

Collaborating with Advantage Learn

Advantage Learnis a company leading the field of digital learning in high schools. Partnering with them gave us an opportunity to develop our own unique platform for readiness assessments which we launched in April for a group of learners from Kimberly-Clark. Since then, other companies have come on board and are delighted with the ease of use and fresh design of the platform.

Our greatest challenge this year was putting together a full online fundamentals course, complete with training videos and updated learning materials, in the space of a week. Blended learning was a new field for us and it was definitely a baptism by fire, but we were extremely happy with the final product. We look forward to running this course for more groups in the future.

2020 was a challenging year, and simply surviving it is an accomplishment. As we head into the new year with the danger of COVID-19 still hanging over our heads, we remember the words of Michelle Obama:

“Don’t be afraid. Be focused. Be determined. Be hopeful. Be empowered.”
